Castle ruins

Hiking is the best way to get to the 4 castles of the Pays de Bitche. The access is a bit steep, but each time the view is amazing!

Falkenstein castle in Philippsbourg (12th century) is the most impressive of the 4 castles.

The Waldeck castle in Eguelshardt was built in the 13th century.

The Ramstein castle in Baerenthal dates from the end of the 13th century.

In Walschbronn, the Weckersburg castle dates from the end of the 15th century.

There are other castle ruins in the forest but they are not secured.
