SENTIER D'EXCELLENCE 1 - AUTOUR DU CHÂTEAU DE RAMSTEIN

Descriptif

This circular trail leads you to discover the richness of nature and history of the village of Baerenthal: ponds, forests, viewpoints and castle ruins. This unique trail leads you through protected nature.

- The large pond

- The picnic tables on the banks of the large pond

- The refreshing Silver Spring

- The Ramstein Castle

Ramstein Castle was built at the end of the 13th century to control the Zinsel valley. At the top of the ruins, an orientation board describes the panoramic view of Baerenthal and its valley. The cellar vaults of the rock on which the castle was built are home to a colony of protected bats.
